Methodology

Snapshots every ~5 minutes from a private DigiByte Core v9.26.4 node (getdigidollarstats + getoracleprice + chain height); static publication; no public RPC; history retained by the ingest worker. The dashboard's LIVE/DELAYED pill flips to DELAYED when the newest snapshot is more than 30 minutes old; the page re-fetches every 60 seconds. Chart lines break where collection gapped — a gap means we did not collect, not that the chain paused.

A DigiDollar mint locks DGB collateral under DigiByte consensus rules — no smart contract, no issuer freeze key — with a 7-of-35 oracle set providing the price. Locked collateral cannot be unlocked before its timelock expires — there is no early exit and no liquidation. Only the vault owner can redeem after maturity; DigiDollar holders have no protocol-level claim on any vault's collateral. During extreme volatility (a move greater than 30% in 24 hours), consensus temporarily freezes all DigiDollar operations, including ordinary transfers, for roughly 36 hours. Ten-year locks mature in the mid-2030s.

digibyte.io/ddstats is the ecosystem's health dashboard and the recommended first stop for current system health. If our figures ever disagree with ddstats, treat the discrepancy as our bug until proven otherwise: we will investigate against raw chain data, publish the finding either way, and correct promptly. We deliberately do not duplicate its health gauges.

The percentage uses a fixed estimate of 17,580,000,000 DGB as circulating supply (July 2026, derived from total mined supply at the time the estimate was set). It is not recomputed per block, does not subtract provably lost or otherwise encumbered coins, and is therefore an approximation — treat the locked-DGB amount, not the percentage, as the citable figure. The estimate is reviewed and restated periodically; the current value and its as-of date are always shown beside the percentage.
